Orman "Dave" Davis

Orrington – Orman “Dave” M. Davis, 82, died January 21, 2018 in Portland. He was born Jan. 4, 1936 in Bradley, the son of Clyde C. and Anna E. (Smith) Davis.

Dave, as he was known, was a 1954 graduate of Old Town High School, attended the Univ. of Maine and served three years with the US Marine Corps. He worked in Materials and Research with the Maine Dept of Transportation for more than 30 years. Dave was a caring and easy going person with a kind smile for everyone. He cherished good fellowship with friends whether with his regular golfing foursome or the weekly horse racing outings. He enjoyed mentoring young people and did so in different ways including scouting and coaching baseball. He was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan and especially liked to hunt, fish, golf, read and travel. Dave loved God, his family and his country. He was a member and trustee of the First United Methodist Church of Orrington for many years. Surviving are his loving spouse, Lorrie Davis of Orrington; two sons, Glenn Davis and fiancé Nimita Patel of Denver and Brian Davis of Charlotte, NC; two stepchildren, Catherine Segee and her husband, Dr. Bruce Segee of Old Town and Andrew King and his wife, Carrie of Brewer; three grandchildren, Rochelle McIntyre, Nathan and Nicole Davis; 2 great grandchildren, Logan and Lincoln McIntyre; four step grandchildren, Molly, Ben and Sam Segee and Allysa King; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Connie Davis, Virginia Dickerson, Marvette and Velma Davis.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, May 25, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, Center Drive, Orrington.  Burial will follow the service at Marston Cemetery, Snows Corner Road, Orrington.  All are invited back to the church following the burial for a reception.  Those who wish to remember Dave in a special way may make a memorial contribution to First United Methodist Church PO Box 108, Orrington, ME 04474.
