Doris A. Mayhew

Levant - Doris A. Mayhew, 73, wife of the late Daniel Mayhew, died July 5, 2017 in Bangor. She was born Feb. 17, 1944 in Brewer, the daughter of Amasa P. and Alva L. (Ring) Libby.

Doris was a Brewer High School graduate and was a longtime resident of Levant. She worked for many years in nursing homes. She and Danny were married 48 years and she was also his caretaker for several years before his passing.

She is survived by her two children, Dani-Lynn Modery and her husband, Keith of Millinocket and Gary Mayhew and his wife, Candie of Waterboro; four grandsons, Connor and Cameron Mayhew of Waterboro and Gage and Drake Modery of Millinocket; one brother, Arthur Libby of Brewer and by a sister-in-law, Donna Libby also of Brewer. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Libby and by a sister-in-law, Ann Libby.

Family and friends may visit 5 – 7 PM Monday, July 10, 2017 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor where a service honoring her life will be held 10 AM Tuesday, with Rev. Rick Lambert, presiding. Burial will be at Waugh Cemetery, Levant. A time of celebration and fellowship will follow immediately afterward at Harvest Chapel Church in Levant Village.
