Patricia B. Gilmore

Brewer - Patricia Ellen (Biggane) Gilmore surrounded by loving family passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2017, the anniversary of her father's birth.   She was born March 11, 1944, in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of Maurice "Dick" Biggane and Georgene "Cute" (McGuire) Biggane. Pat moved to Stonington at an early age and developed a love for that beautifully picturesque island that stayed with her to the end. In 1962 she graduated from Mount Merici Academy in Waterville, Maine. She went on to receive her B.S. in Education from UMaine where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She taught one year at Mary Snow School in Bangor then several years in Connecticut; however, the bulk of her 35 years teaching was in Brewer. Even after her retirement, she was drawn back as a lunch lady. Pat loved the cottage in Deer Isle, cross word puzzles, "Survivor," New York City, Sudoku, "Dancing With the Stars," all things Irish, and her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and other activities. Above all she was committed to family and was truly a doting grandmother.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Bob Gilmore of Brewer; her son Rob Gilmore and his wife Alicia of Holden; her son Jim Gilmore of Brewer; and her daughter Alicia Hunter and husband Joe Clark of Newcastle. She also leaves the light of her life and her reason for living - her precious grandchildren: Emily, Kelsey, James and fiancée Jenna, Vincent, Olivia, Oliver, London, Charlotte, Christopher, great grandson Jace, and a soon-to-be-born grandson who will not have the opportunity to experience her special love.  Additionally she leaves her sister Barbara (Biggane) True and husband Gordon of Bangor; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Marcia Biggane.  To list all the folks she cherished would be folly as their number is large. A beloved younger brother James Joseph Biggane predeceased her.
