Obituary of Patricia Ann Thurston

Brewer & Bangor--Patricia “Patty” Ann Thurston, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on January 30, 2016. She was born on August 3, 1934. Patty resided with her family in Brewer until 2000 when she moved into her home, supported by The Getchell Agency of Bangor, where she lived until her passing. Patty will always be remembered for her kind nature, beautiful smile, and sense of humor. She touched a place in the hearts of everyone who knew her. With a twinkle in her eyes and a smile, Patty brightened every day. Patty cherished her mother and all her family members, as well as her many friends. She loved looking at photos of family and friends as well as her collection of greeting cards and stuffed animals. Patty was predeceased by her loving mother, Barbara Doll and step-father, Clarence Doll. She is survived by brothers, Allen Doll and David Thurston; great-aunt Hildred Kinney of Howland; special nieces Julie Pace and husband Chuck of Glenburn, Renee Giguere and her husband Jim and three children Waylon, Danielle and Clara of Etna; sister-in-law Tammy Jamieson. Patty will always be fondly remembered by her extended family at The Getchell Agency, especially her dear friend, Carol Manson. On behalf of all who were fortunate to know her, we thank you Patty for enriching our lives and forever touching our hearts. Family and friends may visit 10-11 AM Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a memorial service will be held at 11 AM as the visitation concludes with Rev. Jannie Shephard, chaplain of Beacon Hospice, officiating. A reception will be held immediately afterward at The Getchell Agency, 1221 Broadway, Bangor. A private burial will take place beside her mother in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland.
