Richard A. Libby, Sr. Brewer – Richard A. Libby, Sr., 74, husband of Donna M. (Willey) Libby, died unexpectedly Sept 13, 2016 at his home in Brewer. He was born Aug. 11, 1942 in Brewer, the son of Amasa P. and Alva (Ring) Libby. Richard was a 1960 graduate of Brewer High School. He worked for Bangor Roofing and later for Glaster & Springer where he was the part owner until he later purchased the business. He also worked for TCL Sheet Metal and part owned Libby’s Greenhouse with his wife Donna. Among his many passions, his favorite pastimes include coaching Brewer Rec Basketball, attending every sporting event of his kids and grandkids, maintaining his property where he grew trees, vegetables, and harvested a turtle farm, and most of all spending time with his beloved wife Donna. Surviving in addition to his wife, Donna Libby of Brewer are two sons, Richard A. Libby, Jr and his wife, Michelle of Brewer and Mark A. Libby of Bangor; two grandchildren, Tyler Libby of Brewer and Megan Libby of Northeast Harbor. One brother, Arthur Libby and his fiancée, Philippa of Orrington and one sister, Doris Mayhew of Levant; as well as many nieces and nephews. Four siblings, Edward Libby, Arlene Rogers, Donald Libby and Lloyd Libby, predeceased him. Richard’s family is planning a private family ceremony at a later date.
