Obituary of Daniel Ryan Hanscom
Bangor- Daniel (Dan) R. Hanscom, 31, died unexpectedly September 18, 2021, in Bangor. He was born on February 27, 1990, the son of Carol A. Jenkinson and Ronald G. Hanscom.
Dan graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 2008, and furthered his education at New England School of Communications, where he graduated with a degree in Audio Engineering. He was also a member of Kappa Delta Phi fraternity. Dan worked for a number of years as a DJ at Diamonds Gentleman’s Club in Bangor.
Dan filled a room with his presence. Not only because he was a big guy, but also because he had a light and an energy that filled a room. He always had a smile, a story, and a laugh to share with all. He never met a stranger; he truly embodied that phrase in how he connected with people and when you spent a few minutes with Dan, he had you hooked. You wanted more. You wanted to hang out with him again. And again. He brought that to his work as a DJ and used that magic to make sure everyone was happy and having the best night. He was a loyal and loving friend, son, brother, cousin, and nephew. His sense of humor was contagious, witty, and unique to Dan. His light will carry on within all whom he touched.
Surviving in addition to his parents, Ron and Carol are one brother Staff Sergeant Samuel E. Hanscom, USAF; stepfather William Jenkinson III of Taunton, MA; step-siblings Billy Jenkinson of Wiscasset and Nicole Jenkinson of Taunton, MA; grandparents Judy and Harry Hanscom of Orrington; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Dan had a special bond with his cousin, Matthew Perkins of Bangor.
