Obituary of Mary Ellen Ireland
Glenburn – Mary Ellen (Gallant) Ireland, 83, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on October 16, 2021. She was born on June 19, 1938, to Joseph and Eleanor (Wood) Gallant.
Mary graduated from John Bapst High School. She worked many years at the Spot Bilt Shoe Factory, The Ross Home, and retired from Eastern Maine Medical Center. She loved to read, complete jigsaw puzzles, and watch her favorite game shows The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. Mary was a member at the Eagles and Elks Clubs. She also loved to decorate for the holidays with her Christmas Village.
Mary is survived by daughter Cindy Hewes; son Raymond Smith Jr and wife Cindy; son Darrick Ireland and wife Liz; granddaughter Heidi Levensalor and partner Chris; granddaughter Danielle Smith and partner Matt; granddaughter Desirae Smith and partner TR; grandson Roger Ireland and partner Katie; grandson Randy Ireland; grandson Rusty Ireland; great-grandsons Logan, Trevor, Brody, Theo, and Rory; great-granddaughters Jordan and Raegan; nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces; dear friend and caregiver Dawn Hafford. Mary was predeceased by her parents; sister Ruth Dolan; dear friend Robert Hafford.
