Obituary of Thomas C. Libbey
Thomas C. Libbey, 78, husband of Janice “Jan” (Straight) Libbey, passed Feb. 17, 2025 in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born June 1, 1946 in Bangor, the son of Clarence and Dolores (Rand) Libbey.
Tom was a 1965 graduate of Brewer High School and was a US Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam. Even though Tom worked in advertising most of his working career, he studied art after his military service having an aptitude for different types of art including sculpture and painting.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Bragdon and her husband, Joel of Eddington; four grandchildren, Emma and Zac Bragdon of Eddington and Eric, Jr. and Hazel Libbey of Bangor; Eric and Hazel’s mother, Angela Libbey; one sister, Rebecca Spaulding and her husband, Bill of Bangor; one sister-in-law, Kim Libbey and her son, Kyle Libbey of Brewer. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years in 2021, by his son, Eric Libbey in 2024 and by a brother, Kenneth Libbey. Tom will be missed by family, friends, and his beloved cat, Diego Santana.
