


Obituary of Lorraine R. Davis
Lorraine Ruth (Furge) Davis died peacefully April 18, 2025 surrounded by family. Lorrie, the name she preferred, was born April 4, 1942 to Granville and Ruth (Curtis) Furge in Fort Fairfield, Maine.
She was a graduate of Bangor High School class of 1960. On September 1, 1961, she married Alan King and they raised two children in Brewer, Maine. On July 29, 1995 she married Orman Davis, of Old Town, Maine. The two of them lived in Orrington, Maine, Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Kissimmee, Florida. Lorrie worked at a variety of jobs, including telephone operator, the candy counter at Freese’s Department Store, Brewer Savings Bank, Budget Car Rental, and church secretary.
She loved music and was an accomplished violinist in high school, making concert mistress (first chair) in All State. Lorrie also loved to travel and visited 49 of the 50 states. She also loved camping, cooking, creative crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a passion for shopping and loved decorating her home for the holidays. She was a devout Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Orrington where she sang in the choir and participated in numerous church activities.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband Orman “Dave” Davis, three brothers, Maynard Furge, Galen Furge, Willie Furge, and one sister Phyllis Wilson.
She is survived by one daughter, Catherine (King) Segee and husband Bruce of Old Town, one son Andrew King and wife Odean Carrie of Brewer, two step sons, Glenn Davis and wife Nimita of Denver, Colorado and Brian Davis of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is survived by four grandchildren, Molly Segee-Cowan, Benjamin Segee, Samuel Segee, and Allysa King, and three step grandchildren Rochelle McIntyre, Nathan Davis and Nicole Davis. She is survived by two great grandchildren, Isaac King and Marlow Segee and four step great grandchildren Logan McIntyre, Lincoln McIntyre, Callum McIntyre and Emma McIntyre. She is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews including a very special niece Cindy Lou Altman.
A service honoring Lorrie’s life will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church, 14 Center Drive, Orrington with Rev. Ron Chaffee, retired pastor, presiding. Burial and luncheon to follow.
