She grew up in Brownville Junction, Maine where family and friends knew her as Florence or “Flo”. She was Valedictorian of the Brownville Junction High School class of 1942 and then attended the Sisters Hospital School of Nursing in Waterville, Maine graduating in 1945. She also served our country as a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps from 1943-1945.
Florence was married 54 years to her high school classmate Army 1st Sergeant Henry F. Wilson Jr and was an Army wife for 28 years. They were stationed in several states and Germany. She loved to travel and got her lifetime wish to visit Europe.

They traveled during the winter months to visit family and friends in various places along the East Coast and Southwest. Summers were spent at their Square Lake camp, gardening, fishing, and enjoying life.
After Henry’s passing, Florence relocated to the Bangor area to be near family. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially making baby caps for newborns, donating them to the local hospitals, as well as making socks, mittens, hats and afghans for her family and friends.
