To Tom and family,
Please know that I am continuing to pray for all of you. I am sure that we are all thanking God for Sophie a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and true friend that was His precious gift to us all.
The memories that we each hold will continue to be a source of comfort and peace and will forever stay in that “special” place in our hearts that is reserved for Sophie alone. I am also thanking God for the gift of “Special K” who several decades ago introduced me to her Mom Sophie. As you know, over the years, that priceless gift evolved into a loving relationship with her family too.
There is no doubt that there will be many times in the future now that we will find a “special and unique” memory of Sophie popping up and there will also be a time when we will smile before shedding a tear too.
I imagine that happening at family gatherings and celebrations or just enjoying a ride and the view you may have shared, or a concert playing music she especially enjoyed, just to mention a few of her favorite things. For me and perhaps you too, the big one is going to be planting flowers and working in the garden. There is a bronze plaque that I put in a special place and it says:
“The Kiss of the Sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
You are nearer God’s heart in a garden,
Than anywhere else on Earth “
Then I add to that with all my heart and soul, that I am still close to all those I love who are resting in peace now in God’s Garden. Now, that includes my dear friend Sophie now too.
