Obituary of Mary Ellen Dunnett

Mary Ellen Dunnett, 68, passed away on August 18, 2025 in Portsmouth, NH. Mary was born May 23, 1957 in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of C. Douglas Dunnett and Ada (Johnson) Taber.

Mary was known for her quick wit, warm heart, and homemade pickles. She had a signature eye roll that always made us laugh. Friends came easily to her because she was genuine and fun. She loved cooking and certainly had a green thumb for plants. In her mother's later years, Mary was her caregiver offering support and companionship.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Justin and Jason Stevens; her sister, Linda Pollard (Bob) of Brewer; her brother, Doug Dunnett (Grace) of CA. Her stepsiblings, Dennis Taber of Harrison, Debbie Taber of Windham, Dawn Taber Cayer (Mike) of St. Croix, VT and Scott Taber of MA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Family and friends may visit from 10:30-11:00 immediately prior. A graveside service for the family will follow.
