Obituary of Glenn A. Strang
Glenn A. Strang, 85, husband of Judith E. (Phillips) Strang, passed August 25, 2025 in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 7, 1940 in Brewer, the son of Richard M. Strang, Sr. and Ina (Chambers) Strang.
Glenn grew up in Hampden and graduated from Hampden Academy in 1958. He served with the US Army and later the US Army Reserves. After his Army service, Glenn worked for Maine Central Railroad and managed Kenney Linoleum of Bangor. He began his beloved career in his late 20’s as an estimator and purchasing agent for MD Hardy, Inc of Hampden, a job he kept until retirement at age 65. During retirement, Glenn missed his work and returned as an estimator for NS Giles until age 79. Glenn loved the time he spent at his camp with his family and friends and he especially enjoyed long rides in the boat.
Glenn was predeceased by his parents and by a brother, Richard M. Strang, Jr. Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Judith (Phillips) Strang; three children, Juli-Ann Debeck and her husband, Garrett of Bangor, Jeannie Hogan and her husband, Tom of Eddington and Glenn (Jay) Strang and his wife, Heather of Bangor; eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
