Obituary of Andrea Paul

It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to Andrea Paul, a beautiful lady inside and out. Andrea passed away on Oct 10th in her home with friends and family by her side. Born on April 7, 1942, in Taunton, Massachusetts, she was 83 years young.

Andrea was the second daughter of her late parents, Andrew Rice and Sylvia Larson. Andrea met the love of her life, Ted Paul, and was married to him for 32 years until his passing in 2012.

Andrea touched many lives with her warmth, kindness and witty humor. Andrea’s personality and spirit was summoned up in one word, “Joy”, as she authentically spread that with whomever she encountered. She was a true friend to all who knew her. She always put others first and was eager to help anyone in need. Andrea loved her friends and family dearly. Special thanks to Monique Duff for her continued friendship through the years.

Andrea enjoyed visiting and dining out with her friends, shopping adventures, reading and watching old tv shows, especially her cowboys. Andrea loved her apartment at Edward Ernst and especially cherished the time with “the girls” and Steve. Andrea was thankful for the friendship that she found in Anita Libby-Kain.

Andrea will be sadly missed by her beloved cat Squeaky who brought her years of love and companionship from the day she rescued him. Thank you to Andrea’s dear friend, Gina McKinney, for continuing the care of Squeaky.

In addition to Squeaky, Andrea is survived by her brothers, Jim (Peg) Rice, John Rice, Jeff (Linda) Rice and Sister Deb (Mike) Rice, Two special nieces, Kim Benson and Annie Hamai, Nephew Richard Hamai along with several other nieces and nephews.

Andrea was predeceased by her parents, Andrew Rice and Sylvia Larson, her sister Patricia Rice and brother Fred Rice.

Thank you to Kim Benson for providing support from afar during these last couple of months. Your “Aunty Ann” felt the love. Jim Rice, your sister Annie “French Fry”, loved you and was thankful for the care that you provided this last month.

Heartfelt thank you to Wendy Gilbert, Andrea’s earthly angel who has been an amazing friend and help through many years. Thank you to Northern Light Hospice for your support and comfort to Andrea and her caregivers.

Andrea was always looking for ways to make life less complicated for people. She would accomplish that by spreading joy with the people she interacted with, handwritten cards to her loved ones or just a simple conversation authentically listening. Please consider doing a random act of kindness in honor of Andrea as life is too short to not spread some joy.
