Obituary of Robert B. Werkowski
Brewer & Bangor – Robert “Bob” B. Werkowski, 91, husband of the late Barbara G. (Bothwick) Werkowski, passed peacefully on Oct 15, 2025 in Bangor. He was born May 26, 1934 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of John and Mary (Gilmartin) Werkowski.
Bob quit high school at the age of 17 to join the US Air Force in June of 1951 as an aircraft mechanic. He was a US Air Force veteran of Korea and Vietnam and served more than 20 years retiring as a master sergeant. Following his military service, he worked another career at Brake Service & Parts in Bangor as store operations manager. Bob and Barbara enjoyed their retirement years wintering in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Surviving is his daughter, Sandra Thompson and her husband, Rex of Prospect; grandson, Samuel Thompson of Prospect. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and his aunt, Kathryn (Gilmartin) Waters, with whom he was very close.
A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
