Obituary of Randy J. Crooker

CORINTH - Randy Jackson Crooker, 59, went to Heaven to be with his son Cody Jackson, October 28, 2025. Randy fought a valiant battle with lung cancer, vowing to do whatever he could to win right to the end. Randy was born in Bangor on January 5, 1966, the son of Merle and Helen (Atkinson) Crooker.

He graduated from Hampden Academy in 1984 and spent most of his adult life working for Freightliner of Maine in Bangor, where he started in the Tire Shop and eventually moved to the Parts Department. He loved Freightliner, and continued to “work”, even “pulling orders” in his sleep while in the hospital. Randy served the Town of Corinth as a fire fighter for 34 years, ending his career there as a Captain. No one who met him was a stranger for long, and he would always lend a hand to whomever asked. Randy enjoyed camping, hunting, spending time kayaking, being around his family and watching NASCAR.

Randy was predeceased by his parents; his son, Cody; his sister, Joyce; his brother, Roger; and his best friend Doug. Randy is survived by his wife, of 38 years, Melissa (Thompson); his daughters Heather Kierstead and her husband Aaron, Christina Bean, and her husband Eric, their mother Lesa Doyle; His son Chadwick and wife Brittany (Crozier); eight beloved grandchildren, Josiah and Hunter Kierstead, Jazzmin and Elijah Bean, and Lexie, Kylie, Jaxson, and Lincon Crooker. Randy leaves 3 brothers and 3 sisters; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
