
Obituary of Judith Esther Smith
Judith E. (Higgins) Smith, 88, passed Dec. 15, 2025 in Bangor. She was born July 26, 1937 in Bangor, the daughter of Andrew and Kathryn A. (Givren) Higgins.
Judith was a 1955 graduate of John Bapst High School and worked as a teaching assistant in Belfast as well as a homemaker when she was a resident of Belfast for 30 years. She retired from the Bangor Housing Authority Office. A lifelong Catholic, Judith was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish.
Surviving are two children, Valerie Eisworth and husband Will of Brewer and Timothy Smith and his wife, Sarah of Bangor; four grandchildren, Nate Eisworth and wife, Mallory, and George Eisworth, Emma and Tanner Smith; two great grandchildren, Maddilyn and Forrest Eisworth; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Margaret “Peg” McGinley and Lois Spellman and by a brother, Douglas Higgins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, Decemer 18, 2025 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, York St., Bangor. Burial will be private at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic School, P.O. Box 1749, Bangor, ME. 04402-1749
