Nellie J. Guptill Hermon and Holden – Nellie J. Guptill, 84, wife of the late Elwin “Bud” Guptill, died June 26, 2016 at her daughters home in Holden. She was born June 4, 1932 in Bangor, the daughter of Arthur H. and Fannie M. (Murphy) Nason. Nellie was a 1950 graduate of Bangor High School and worked for W T. Grant as a buyer in women’s apparel and fabric for 20 years. She was a dedicated homemaker and seamstress she also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening. Nellie is survived by her daughter, Lori E. Proulx and her husband, Tim of Holden; one granddaughter, Brittany Adams and her husband, Ben of Blue Hill; two great grandchildren William and Jacob; two sisters, Kathryn “Kitty” Cotton and her husband, Wilbur of Eddington and Patricia Smith of Waldoboro; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, A. Frank Nason. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday June 30, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Union St., Hermon with Pastor Garnett Chute presiding. A reception will immediately follow at the Hermon Baptist Church. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mt. Hope Ave, Bangor, ME 04401.
