Obituary of Philip M. Kneeland
Philip M. Kneeland, 88, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. He was born on March 30, 1937, to Calvin Henry Kneeland and Inez Myrtle (Folsom) Kneeland.
Philip dedicated many years of his career to General Electric in Bangor, where he retired. A man of many talents and interests, he was an avid woodworking hobbyist who could "MacGyver" anything. Everything he made was strong enough to jump up and down on or hold the weight of a horse. He had a deep love for animals and cherished the time spent with them.
A hardworker with a generous spirit, Philip always had the tool or random piece you might need to finish a project and a heart to help those around him no matter the sacrifice. Above all, family was deeply important to Philip. He treasured gathering with his loved ones and had a special fondness for playing cards and games with family and friends. These moments of connection and laughter were among some of his greatest joys.
Philip made sure everyone knew how special they were to him. You didn't leave his presence without a hug, firm handshake, or words of love and encouragement.
Philip was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 58 years, Lois (Rockwell) Kneeland; his son, Dennis; his daughter, Phyllis (Kneeland) Clement; his parents; and all of his siblings, Willis Kneeland, Hazen Kneeland, Hazel (Kneeland) Akeley, Leonard Kneeland, Wendell Kneeland, and Malcolm Kneeland.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Kneeland) Fowler and husband Barry; his son, Anthony Kneeland and partner Jeff Bridge; son-in-law Jimmy Clement; his grandchildren, Chris Clement and wife Kalli, Nikki (Dubay) More and husband Drew, Fred Clement and wife Jennifer, and Cory Fowler and wife Jenn; many treasured great and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Manny & Judy Gil and Dalton Dunfee.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 14 at Village Cemetery in Charleston. Messages and memories may be share with his family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
