Obituary of Coburn Dale Williams

Dale, 91, husband of Lois (Simons) Williams, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior at home, January 13, 2026, after a period of declining health.

He was born June 1, 1934 in Calais, Me., the son of Coburn Wesley and Alice (Varnum) Williams.  Dale attended Waite Elementary School and graduated from Princeton High School.  He attended Eastern Baptist College in Pennsylvania and graduated from Bob Jones University in 1959 with a B.A. degree in Sacred Music.  Dale worked as Minister of Music at; Princeton Baptist Church (Princeton, Maine), Grace Baptist Church (Washington, D.C.), First Orthodox Baptist Church (Ardmore, Oklahoma) and Calvary Baptist Church (Brewer, Maine) as well as teaching private voice and piano for 50 years in Brewer, Maine.  After retiring from his church music ministries, he was a member of West Hampden Baptist Church for 35 years.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Lois, of 66 years in Brewer, are two children, Nevin Williams, of Brewer and Heather Pawson and her husband, John, of Greer, S.C.; four grandchildren, Leeann Hale and her husband Zach of Summerville, S.C., Shawn Williams and his fiancée, Tara of Knox, ME., Tristan Pawson and his wife, Marissa of Surprise, AZ. and Cameron Pawson and his wife, Emily of Greer S.C.; five great grandchildren, Carson Williams, Jayden, Jaxon, Jordan and Joshua Hale.  Dale was predeceased by one son, Garret Dwight Williams in 1964.

Family and friends may visit 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at West Hampden Baptist Church, 574 Western Ave. Hampden, where a service honoring Dale’s life will be held at 5:00 P.M. as the visiting time concludes.  Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Brewer in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions go toward the missions fund at West Hampden Baptist Church.  Messages and memories may also be shared with his family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
