Obituary of Marie J. Miller

Marie J. Miller, 88, is now in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. She went home on Friday March 20, 2026 at her home while surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born Dec. 11, 1937 in East Millinocket, Maine, the daughter of Adrian and Margaret (Duffy) Saucier.

Marie was a dedicated wife, mother of six children and homemaker.  She worked several jobs while raising her children to include Emple Knitting Mill, Viner Shoe, school bus driver and caretaker at Opportunity Housing Inc. She loved music and sang in her church’s choir and folk group and taught her grandchildren piano lessons. Other singing groups were the Sweet Adelines, River City Harmonizers, Heart of Maine and Hearts in Harmony. She was in the Y Players for years singing and acting.  Marie was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish attending at St. Teresa’s Church in Brewer where she served as a Eucharist Minister and later attended at St. Mary’s Church, Bangor.

Marie was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald H. Miller; three brothers, William Moody, James Moody and Gerald Moody; one special daughter-in-law, Debbie Miller. Surviving are six children, Edward Miller, Michael Miller and his wife, Patricia, Stephen Miller, Lloyd Miller and his wife, Cheryl, Joyce Hanson and her husband, Duane and Sherry Canarr and her husband Ronnie; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a sister, Natalie Summers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St., Bangor. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. . For those who wish, memorial gifts may be made to First Step Pregnancy Center, 336 Mt.
