Obituary of Ardess Marilyn Blount

Ardess M. Blount, “Nana”, 91, wife of the late Dewey Blount, Jr., passed July 18, 2026 in Bangor. She was born May 23, 1935 in Jonesport, Maine, the daughter of Percy W. and Evelyn (Carver) Bryant.

Ardess grew up in Washington County and lived in the Bangor area in recent years. A hard worker, she worked many jobs over the years including processing blueberries, digging potatoes, domestic worker and many others. Her most important was that of a dedicated homemaker to her family.

Surviving are four children, Jeffrey and Sun Blount of Colonial Heights, VA, Kevin Blount and companion Sue Makenzie of Kenduskeag, Debbie Little and companion, Don Webster of Brewer and Brenda Ireland and companion Clarence McGraw of Bangor; Bonita Blount of Neenah WI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Harold Bryant Sr. and his wife, Sharon of Wallingford, CT; nieces and nephews. A bonus family member Kenny McGraw of Bangor. She was predeceased by her husband, Dewey Blount; two sons, Stephen and Gary Blount; two brothers, George and Breen Bryant; a sister, Patricia Johnson and a grandson, Christopher Ireland.

Family and friends may visit 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A graveside service and burial will be held 3:30 PM Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport.
