Obituary of Christopher Montemurro

BANGOR-- On Friday, July 24, 2026, Christopher Montemurro passed away.  He was a passionate, loving father, and his green eyes held a kind gaze that brought comfort to all around him.   

Born December 26, 1960, to Rita and John Montemurro, Chris lived in Paramus, New Jersey. He spent his childhood with his siblings and friends creating adventure wherever they went. He graduated from Paramus High School in 1978 and went to the University of Maine, School of Business Administration. 

Chris loved to treat others as guests and make a difference in their lives.  He used his personal values to drive his professional life, where he helped thousands of people achieve their dream of owning a home.  Chris worked resolutely as a senior mortgage loan officer, and crafted a professional legacy of over 40 years of immense accomplishments, none more important to him than helping people.

The most cherished moments in Chris’s life were the joys he found in the company of family.  He spent every waking moment in the company of his four-legged companion Gabby.  His love to create meals to bring everyone together brought laughter and memories that will never fade.  He never let his circumstances define his happiness, and he loved sunsets in late July. 

He is survived by son, Nick wife Karlee; son Joey; daughter Katherine; friend and former wife of 35 years, Marianne; and siblings Robert and wife Anrica, Lucretia, Charles, Gregory and wife Alison, and Rita and husband John.  Chris was predeceased by his parents and brother John. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M., Thursday, July 30, 2026, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor.  All are invited to a reception in the church hall following the mass.
