Obituary of Darrell E. Curtis
Carmel – Darrell E. Curtis, 60, husband of Florice E. Curtis, passed August 10, 2026 in Bangor. He was born June 28, 1966 in Belfast, the son of Grover and Marie (Ward) Curtis.
Darrell served four years with the US Army for 1984 to 1988 with the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked many years in business and technology and he could be described as funny and smart, and he loved his friends and family fiercely. He was always up for a project or an adventure.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Florice E. (Dunton) Curtis of Carmel are three daughters, Ashley Lindemann and her husband, Matt of Brewer, Brittany Warden and her husband Henry of Trenton and Christy Bowden of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Lilah, Elsie and Alexandra and Keaton and Kaleigh; several siblings and many nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his stepchildren, Jessica, MJ, and Melinda and step grandchildren, Makayla, Kobe, Justin, Jayce, Joseph, Blake, and Craig.
A graveside service and burial will take place 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Highland Cemetery, Carmel and a reception time will immediately follow at the Grange Hall in Carmel. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at dav.org. Messages and memories may be share with his family on the tribute wall of this site.
