Obituary of Joan E. Corbett

Joan E. Corbett Bangor – Joan E. Corbett, 84, wife of the late Francis C. Corbett, died April 9, 2017 at her home in Bangor. She was born Dec. 4, 1932 in Bangor, the daughter of Thomas H. Flanagan, Sr. and Clara M. (Veno) Flanagan. Joan was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1950 and worked for many years as a secretary at St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor and a member of the Ave Maria Circle, Daughters of Isabella. She was active with harness racing around the state and she enjoyed playing cards with friends. She will always be remembered for her smile and her positive outlook on life. Surviving are three children, Thomas E. Corbett of Bangor, David A. Corbett and his partner, JoAnn Thomas of Kenduskeag and Jean Bladen and her husband, David of Oregon; four grandchildren, Patrick Corbett and his wife, Elyse of Freeport, Michael Corbett and his wife, Heather of Brewer, Emily Leigh and her husband, Steve of Scottsdale, AZ and Aaron Bladen and his wife, Paris of Portland, OR; 10 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Anne Flanagan of Bangor; two nephews and one niece, Kevin and Michael Flanagan and Susan Stout. Joan was predeceased by her husband, a son, James Corbett, two sisters, Sharon Flanagan and Pauline Flanagan and by a brother, Thomas H. Flanagan, Jr. A graveside service and and burial will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
