Thomas Russell “Russ” Woolley III
Bangor – Thomas Russell “Russ” Woolley III, 67, passed away July 10, 2017, in Bangor after a period of declining health. Russ was born January 15, 1950, in Bangor, the son of Dr. Thomas Russell Woolley II, and Nancy Howe (Loomis) Woolley. He graduated from Orono High School in 1968 and went on to graduate from the University of Maine, Orono, Class of ’72. At UMaine he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Russ married Nan (Sargent) Woolley in 1973. He was employed by The Webber Group for 37 years at progressive levels of management, retiring as VP of Heating Oil Sales in October 2012. He was known by his family, friends and colleagues as a warm, kind-hearted, loyal person with a playful sense of humor and a natural story teller. Russ also loved to travel, spending time in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially trout fishing, and New England sports; he enjoyed tennis, running and golf during his physically active years.
Russ was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Erin M. Woolley, his sister-in- law Julie (Sargent) Logan and brother-in-law Christopher Sargent. He is survived by his wife Nan (Sargent) Woolley, his son Kyle Woolley and wife Emily Egan of Chicago, IL, his sister Linda Woolley and husband George B. Smith III of Sidney, ME, his sister Pamela (Woolley) and husband Peter Viehweg, of Marietta, GA, his brother Douglas and wife MaryCate Woolley of Freehold, NJ, his brother Christopher and wife Anne Woolley of Charlotte, NC, his brother- in- law John Logan of Bangor, ME, his niece Kate (Logan) and husband Rob Yerxa of Old Town, ME, his nephew Andrew Logan and wife Claire Anderson of Wilmington, DE, his nephew Jason and wife Kate (Lanman) Rayne of Scarborough, ME, many cousins and other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit from 4 – 7 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A graveside committal service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor.
