Obituary of Wendell Overlock

Levant - Sonny Overlock, 85 of Levant, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 20, 2017. Sonny was born in Carmel, ME on July 21, 1931, the son of George and Madeline (Thomas) Overlock.

Sonny almost died of cancer when he was 30 and asked Jesus to heal him and let him live to be 85. God answered his prayers and healed Sonny. He lived to be 85, passing away the DAY BEFORE he turned 86! He lived everyday to serve his Lord and Savior and he was excited to tell people what the Lord had done for him.

Sonny was a Korean War Vet and loved telling his family about his war stories. He loved working outside in the woods or in his saw mill, which he operated for many years in Levant.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Helen (Thibeau) Overlock; children Dennis Overlock and wife Debra Maki, Lynn and husband Ricky Harvey, Kathy and husband Desmond Harvey, Shawn Overlock, and Scott Overlock; 18 grandchildren Jamie Harburger, Chuck Homsted, Desarae' Desjardins, Andrew Harvey, Tamara Robinson, Wayne Robinson, Travis Robinson, Adam Robinson, Robert Kubishak, Raymond Kubishak, Nicole Overlock, Brittany Overlock, Ryan Overlock, Hunter Harvey, Lavender Harvey, Tiffany Overlock, Kyle Overlock, Amanda Overlock; several great-grandchildren. Sonny and his smile will be missed by all that knew him. Heaven has been blessed with a wonderful man of God.

Family and friends are invited to visit 1-2 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Union St., Hermon. Please come celebrate the life of Sonny Overlock.
