Obituary of Kara L Cookson

Kara L. Cookson, 31, died unexpectedly Dec. 7, 2017 at her home. She was born Mar. 26, 1986 in Bangor, the daughter of Scott A. Cookson and Carla J. (Sawyer) Cichocki.

Kara loved camping, quilting and making gifts from the heart for her family. She recently shared with her father that the best memories of growing up were times spent camping and exploring nature. As a proud mother, she could not wait to share those experiences creating her own happy memories with her son, Devin. She loved him dearly and always tried to make him the happiest little boy you would ever meet. Kara will always be her grandparents sweet little girl. Even though you have left our life, you will never leave our heart. We miss you deeply. Rest peacefully and know that Devin is in good hands.

Surviving in addition to her parents, Scott Cookson of Frankfort and Carla J. Cichocki and her husband, William III of Carmel are one son, Devin J. Cookson of Carmel; three brothers, Cole Cookson, William and Evan Cichocki all of Carmel; grandparents, Verda Keen of Brewer, Linda Fanjoy of Newburgh, Leland and Bev Sawyer of Orrington; her boyfriend, James Wilmot of Holden; her aunts, Angel Sawyer, Tracy Crosby and Dawn Sawyer. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Leo Cookson and Bill Keene.

Family and friends may visit 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.  A graveside service will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.
