Obituary of Amber Louise Hupper

Brewer-- Amber Louise (Finnemore) Hupper, 78, passed away peacefully at home in Brewer, ME, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. She was born in Caswell Plantation, ME on August 30, 1939, to the late Sidney and Phoebe (Amacher) Finnemore. She grew up in Maine and moved to Massachusetts with her family in her teen years. Amber married William G. Hupper in 1962 and in the years following, had two children, Susan and Adam. Amber enjoyed working with children and volunteered in numerous children and teen programs in her church over the years. She also reveled in her in-home daycare for many children, while living in Melrose, MA. During the years that she lived in California, she was delighted to be able to volunteer at her church's thrift shop with her friends. Amber loved God and spending time reading her Bible, listening to Christian music, visiting with her family, and watching the wild birds eat at her numerous feeders, especially the hummingbirds. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighborhood mother to so many during her children's childhood. Amber leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Bill; children Susan and husband Peter Witt of Hampden, Adam and wife Christine Hupper of North Easton, MA; grandchildren Annika and Hendrik Witt, Alison and April Hupper; siblings Richard Finnemore and wife Cynthia of Northeast Harbor, Donna Caron of Old Orchard Beach, Carolyn Howell of Methuen, MA, Bertha Lee of Biddeford; many nieces and nephews, as well as a special group of friends in Melrose, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in her name to the Arthritis Foundation National Office, 1355 Peachtree St NE, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30309, or to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, PO Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502. A private burial will take place in April at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. A celebration of life will take place during the summer at a date to be determined.
