Obituary of Maynard B. Miller

Maynard B. Miller, 74, husband of Rena (Theriault) Miller, died Sept. 13, 2018 at his home in Hampden. He was born Dec. 30, 1943 in Millinocket, the son of Ira and Irene (Rush) Miller.

Maynard was a 1962 graduate of Schenck High School and served with the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and was honorably discharged as an E4. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine later in life. Maynard and Rena were married May 17, 1969 at St. Peter’s Church in East Millinocket enjoying nearly 50 years of marriage. He worked many years in banking, primarily as a personnel director, and most recently had more as an Ed Tech at Reeds Brook Middle School in Hampden prior to retirement. Maynard was a member of the Bangor Noon Lions Club and he and Rena were members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Hampden.

Surviving in addition to his beloved wife, Rena Miller of Hampden; one son, John Miller and his wife, Michelle of Hampden; four grandchildren, Spencer and Casey Miller of Hampden, Lexi and Colby Miller both of Dedham; one brother, Ira Miller, Jr and his wife, Alice of  Millinocket and a sister, Irene Alexander and her husband, Dallas of Mims, FL ; nieces and nephews. Maynard was predeceased by his son, Michael Miller in 2014 and by his brother, Maurice Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Western Ave., Hampden where friends may visit with family immediately prior to the beginning of Mass from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693 B Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME  04401.
