Obituary of Jeannine Ann Helsley

Bangor & Houlton – Jeannine A. Helsley, 81, wife of Ralph J. Helsley, died May 17, 2019 in Bangor. She was born Feb. 4, 1938 in Woodstock, NB, Canada, the daughter of C. Harrison and Nina A. (Cook)   Monteith

Jeannine was the eldest of 11 children and grew up in New Brunswick. She worked as a waitress and retail clerk for several years and loved to cook, dance and listen to music. She and Ralph attended church at the Calvary Apostolic Church, Hampden.

Surviving are three children, Dale Grass of and his wife Tammy of Calais, Cindy Harris of Florida and Bonnie Quint and her husband, Andrew of Hodgdon; grandchildren, Ariana, Camden, Cassie, Logan, Kendra, Heath, Reese, Connie and Brandi; two great grandchildren, Cooper and Caila; two brothers, Allison Monteith of New Brunswick and Hugh Monteith of Halifax, NS; two sisters, Irene Campbell of Barrie, Ontario and Geri Kilburn of Fredericton, New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, one grandson, Conner Quint and by six siblings, Victor, Margaret, Roger, Richard, Pauline and Connie. Jeannine will be remembered by some of Ralph’s family, Philip, Steve, Ralph, Joe, Adam and James Helsley.

Family and friends may visit 12 to 2 PM Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Calvary Apostolic Church, 24 Crosby Way, Hampden where a service honoring her life will be held at 2 PM with Pastor Thomas Channell, presiding. Burial will be at a later date. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074 or at alz.org/maine.
