Obituary of Darlene P. Thibodeau
Brownville - Darlene P. (McLaughlin) Thibodeau, 58 , loving wife of Robert M. Thibodeau , passed away June 10, 2019 after an illness with Alzheimers Disease. Her husband was at her side, as she was in peace and comfort at her time of passing. She was born on August 21, 1960 in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Everett and Shirley (White) McLaughlin.
Darlene was a graduate of Penquis Valley High School (1978) and also was a graduate of the University of Maine (2001) receiving high honors and on Dean's List as a CDA, Certified Dental Assistant, an accomplishment in which she was extremely proud. She worked various jobs throughout her life including, Dexter Shoe, Guilford Woolen Mill, as a cook in the Wiscasset area, Hotel Terrace in Millinocket, then joining her husband to be a co-owner at the Casual Moose Restaurant in Brownville. She then moved on to college at age 40 as dentistry became her interest. Proudly earning a degree as a dental assistant, placed employed at Essex Street Dental Associates in Dover-Foxcroft, where she absolutely loved her work, and her friends there also, until her disease prevented her from doing what she loved to do. Darlene enjoyed cooking, baking, making specialty cakes and sewing. She also liked outdoor activities like walking, swimming, boating, and snowmobiling, especially at Schoodic Lake, one of her favorite places to be. She will be remembered for her big heart, kindness, love of family, her beautiful smile and putting the needs of others before her own. She was a friend to all.
She is survived by her husband Robert Thibodeau of Brownville; daughters, Carrie Brown and husband Ryan Willette of Caribou, Courtney Doore and husband Joshua of Dexter and a special bonus daughter, Melissa Thibodeau of Bangor; sisters, Susan Mulherin and husband Bill of Milo and Kelley Cogar and husband, Chris of Dover-Foxcroft; parents, Everett and Shirley McLaughlin of Ebeemee Township; grandchildren, Carson, Nora, Braydon, Landon, and Adelyn; special cousins, Bonny, Kathy, David, Paula, Karen, Bill; nieces, Melissa and Michelle and all of her friends whom she dearly loved.
A graveside service and burial will be held 2 PM Sunday July 7,2019 at the Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville Junction with the Rev. Elizabeth Coffey officiating. A reception at the Brownville Community Church in Brownville will be immediately following service. Arrangements trusted to Kiley and Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor.
