Obituary of Jane F. Meade

Jane F. Meade, 78, died Nov. 24, 2019 in Connecticut. She was born July 26, 1941 in Brewer, the daughter of Francis W. and Joan R. (Connolly) O’Connor.

She attended St. Teresa’s elementary school in Brewer and graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor. She went back to school in her 40s and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Maine, Orono. Jane worked as a nurse for many years including several years each for St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor City Nursing and for New Hope Hospice. Jane was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Bangor and Brewer prior to her decline in health.

Jane is survived by three children, Patrick Meade and his wife, Guadalupe of Casa Grande, AZ, Shawn Meade and his wife, Rosemary of North Fort Myers, FL and Lisa Amatruda of Woodbury, CT; eight grandchildren, Brittany and Patrick Meade, Jr. of Arizona, Shawn Meade II of Maryland, and Ryan Meade of New Jersey, Nicholas, Matthew, Anna-Catherine and Sophia Amatruda all of Connecticut. She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Meade in 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, Nov 29, 2019 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 217 York St., Bangor. Family and friends may visit from 9 – 10:30 AM at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer prior to the funeral mass. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
