Obituary of Sonja M Butler

Hermon—Sonja M. (Belyea) Butler, 79, passed away August 12, 2020. She was born January 14, 1941, in Westfield, the daughter of Leslie and Crystal Belyea. Sonja graduated from Presque Isle High School. She lived more than 30 years in Washburn and retired from Dead River Company. She enjoyed camping and numerous campgrounds. While living in Presque Isle, she was on many candlepin bowling leagues. Sonja married her husband, Jeffrey Butler on July 1, 1971. They shared 49 very happy years together! She was predeceased by her parents and grandson Merrill Hale Howlett. Sonja is survived by husband Jeffrey Butler; daughter Joni Bartley-Marsico and family; stepchildren Meta Walters, Aaron Butler, Darcie Martinez, and their families; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister June Kinney and family. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Lidstone Memorial United Methodist Church, 4 Hines St., Washburn. Social distancing measures will be in effect and seating will be limited.
