Obituary of Virginia Ruth Sayko
Orrington - Virginia (Cammack) Sayko, 86, wife of the late George Sayko, died September 7, 2020 at a local healthcare facility after a period of declining health. She was born March 18, 1934 in Bangor.
She had a tremendous love for children of all ages, which was reciprocated in kind. She thoroughly enjoyed organizing family outings and gatherings. Virginia and George were longtime members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Brewer.
She was predeceased by husband George in 2019; daughter Julie in 1979; sisters Bernice Turcotte and Joyce MacDonald. Virginia is survived by son Michael J. Sayko of Webster, TX; grandchildren Sgt. Keith Sayko of US Army stationed in Iraq and Kristyn Sayko of Texas City, TX; brothers Walter Cammack III of Brewer and Harold Cammack of Sanford, FL; sisters Helen Abbott of Orrington and Pauline Johnson of Friendswood, TX.
