I taught at Fairmount with Larry from 1995 to 2000, when I was a brand new teacher. I remember Larry as kind, generous, and so supportive of me. He was an amazing person. I send love to his family.

Steven and Rob,
Larry has always been such a special influence and friend. We worked together at Fairmount and he immediately took me under his wing. There are so many stories to share. I thoroughly enjoyed our projects, hiking days, and breakfasts at Coach House.
I especially remember my first day on the job. We had recess duty together. With a twinkle in his eye he said "just do what I say and you will be fine". So funny because Larry was a team player but he could gently prod one to work with him on any project. I loved it.
Certainly miss Larry.
Peace be with you as you being your new reality. Keep those wonderful memories alive.

I am so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I know how deeply he cared for his family and his community. As a former Key Club advisor, I adored weekly visits from Mr. Smith. His past as an educator was always evident as he worked with students. Even after I passed the role on to another colleague, Larry would stop in to check on my son and things in my life. He will be so missed by the students who've worked with him through Kiwanis. Thoughts and strength to your family.

Larry was a good friend. For many years we taught at the same school and shared many projects together. He had the ability to make me laugh and his zest and enthusiasm for teaching was catching. He will be missed.
