Obituary of Elizabeth Helen Navonis
Glenburn & Bangor – Elizabeth Helen (Oakes) Treadwell Navonis, 101, died April 1, 2021 in Bangor. She was born April 11, 1919 in McAdam Junction, NB, Canada, the daughter of Frederick and Minnie (Hall) Oakes, Sr.
Elizabeth was married to Joseph Linwood Treadwell for 34 years and resided in Hermon for 52 years. Elizabeth and her second husband, Vincent W. Navonis also lived in the same home for 16 years. Elizabeth was employed as a shoe factory worker and was a certified nurses assistant in several nursing homes and in private care.
Surviving are two children Frederick L. Treadwell and his wife, Jeannine of Etna and John L. Treadwell and his wife, Sharon of Glenburn; a daughter-in-law, Carol Treadwell of Glenburn; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, two daughters, Patricia E. Daudelin and her husband, Conrad “Roy” Daudelin and Beverly Louise Treadwell in 1940; two sons, Joseph Robert Treadwell in 1953 and Richard Treadwell, Sr., three sisters, Leoranca Oakes Smith, Annabelle Duncan and Harriet Duncan Drinon and by four brothers, Fred Oakes, Jr. and Carroll Oakes, Robert and Milton Duncan. Her family gratefully thanks her granddaughter, Tina Johnson and her husband, Roger for all they have done for Nana Navonis.
A family visitation will be held this coming week and a graveside service will be held in May with a burial to follow at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
