Obituary of Idamae Morrison Garside

Orrington—Idamae Morrison Garside, 95, passed away May 26, 2021.  She was born March 1, 1926, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Lloyd and Mildred (Higgins) Dolliver.

 

Idamae attended school in Bar Harbor and was a graduate of Old Orchard Beach High School.  She was employed as a laboratory technician at the Saco-Lowell Laboratory in Biddeford, Maine.  She was employed for several years at Bangor international Airport and Sylvania Technologies in Bangor.

 

She was married to Warren H. Garside for 50 wonderful years until his passing.  Together they raised two wonderful sons John and Robert.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother in Orrington for many years.  Idamae was an artist in many forms. She was an oil painter, knitter, seamstress, gardener and wonderful cook.  She mastered all hobbies and her work was impeccable.  Idamae and Warren were members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary they were very involved in boating and owned several of their own boats through their lives.

 

She was predeceased by her husband Warren and son Robert.  Idamae is survived by son John Garside of Orrington; daughter-in-law Cindy Garside of Orrington; sister Ann Hosmer of Veazie; brother Robert Dolliver of California; grandchildren Dusty Hillman, Misty McAlexander, Christy Garside Ruhlin , Josh Garside, Lauren Garside; great-grandchildren Cassie and Alex Hillman, Liam, Aiden and Camden McAlexander, and Olivia O’Brien.

 

We will hold the memories of her close. She was one special lady who we will admire and love for ever. Until we meet again.

 

A graveside service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Pine Hill Cemetery, Swetts Pond Road, Orrington.  Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com
