Volunteering was always important to her and she spent many hours serving at the Attic and the Soup Kitchen.  Rachel treasured the time she was able to spend with her sister, Sue and especially during annual visits where a number of competitive games of Scrabble were played.  Upon retirement, Rachel and Dick enjoyed their years wintering in Vero Beach, Florida.  Rachel was an avid golfer and treasured by all her friends there.

Rachel is survived by many who will miss her dearly, including her four children and six grandchildren; Jeffrey Lapointe and his wife, Michele of Orrington and their children Chris and Josh, Todd Lapointe and his wife, Megan of Baltimore, MD, Kelly Lapointe and his wife, Shannon of Brewer and their children Keegan and Landon, and Tracy Simpson and her husband, Joseph of The Villages, FL and their children Rebekah and Ashlee; two great grandchildren, Madison Miller and Hadlee Lapointe; one brother, Normand Picard of Nashua, NH; one sister, Sr. Suzanne Picard, Order of Presentation of Mary, Hudson, NH; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
