Obituary of Mary Helen Pooler

Brewer- Mary H. (Gerald) Pooler, 74, wife of C. Daniel Pooler, died May 7, 2016 at her home in Brewer surrounded by her family. She was born October 31, 1941 in Howland, the daughter of Leonard F. and Helen F. (Coffin) Gerald. Mary and Dan have been lifelong residents of Brewer and members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brewer since 1963. Mary worked at WABI TV, Bangor Hydro Electric, Brewer Housing Authority and Bangor House Senior Citizens. Mary was dedicated mother and wife, she enjoyed her family and friends, tole painting and sewing. She is survived by her husband of 53 years of Brewer; four children, Michael Pooler and his wife, Sue of Oakland, Kathy Smith and her husband, Steve of Troy, Rod Pooler and his wife, Jill of Cumberland and Jim Pooler and his wife, Michelle of Belfast; four grandchildren, Jessica Smith, and Lauren Smith, Grace and Ryan Pooler; one great grandchild, Ty Marr; two brothers, Alan Coffin and his wife, Jean of Wakefield, Massachusetts, Paul Gerald and his wife, Peggy of Eddington, four sisters, Carolyn Slade of Brewer, Shelby Sutherburg and her husband, Lee of East Eddington, Alyson Coffin and her husband, Donald of Brewer, and Jane Gerald of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; two sisters-in-law, Anne Pooler of Bangor and Pat Duplessie of Albuquerque, NM; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Rodney Gerald, a granddaughter, Kate Pooler and by a daughter-in-law, Deborah (Bridgham) Pooler. The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to St Joseph Hospice, especially Marilyn, Renee and Lynn and Premier Home Care, especially, Patty, Nadeen, Kelly and Jackie. Family and friends may visit 4 -6 pm, Tuesday, May 10, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at11 am on May 11th at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 531 No. Main St., Brewer. A time of friendship and refreshments will be held immediately afterward in the parish center. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
