Marjorie Tripp

Obituary of Marjorie Verne Tripp

Marjorie Verne Tripp, “Moo”, 91, passed away peacefully February 23, 2022, after a long battle with dementia.  Moo was born September 21, 1930, in Danforth to Claire and Ernest Tucker.

After graduating high school, she moved to Bangor to find work. Not long after, thanks to the help of friends, she met her loving husband, Joe Tripp.  They eventually settled in Dedham and set up their home. Moo was the type of woman who liked defying the odds. After being told she couldn’t have children, she went on to raise four boys of her own and though she loved being a mom, those boys kept things constantly interesting.  Along the way, Moo held down multiple jobs that she loved, including raking blueberries for Allen’s in Ellsworth in the summers. Her favorite job, however, was the many years she spent being the assistant cook under her good friend, Blanche, at Dedham Community School/

Family was always a big priority to Moo and she was very proud of hers!

Moo was predeceased by her wonderful husband Joseph; special friend Nelson Levasseur; siblings Edward Tucker, Lewis “Gus” Tucker, George “Hoop” Tucker, Beulea Golding, Althea Lakes, and Fern Stormann.  Moo is survived by brother Paul Tucker and wife Brenda of Milford; sons Joe Jr. and partner Patty of Dedham, Ralph and wife Gena of Harmony, David and wife Susan of Clifton, and Darryl and wife Christy of Hermon; grandchildren Ralph Jr., Kim, Casey, Caitlin, Kyle, David Jr., Nick, Jess, Matt, Jessica and Jared; great-grandchildren Nadya, Kayden, Kylee, Robert, Jordan, Tripp, and Maddix; many cousins, nieces, and nephews, especially Larry Tucker; special friends David Cook, Blanche Clark and Eunice and Alden Ladd.

The family would like to send a sincere thank you to the staff at both Engle place and Stillwater Healthcare for the loving care they gave our beloved Moo.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Moo’s honor to the Christmas Fund at Stillwater Healthcare, by way of cash or money order to “Stillwater Healthcare”, 335 Stillwater Ave., Bangor, ME  04401.
