Obituary of Pamela J. (Gilman) Hill

Pamela J. (Gilman) Hill, 79, wife of the late Eugene B. Hill, passed peacefully in Bangor after an illness. She was born April 13, 1943 in Brewer, the daughter of Seth W. and Muriel S. (Williams) Gilman. 

Pam was a lifelong resident of Brewer graduating from Brewer High School in 1960. She worked for Emples Knitting Mill in Brewer. Afterward, she worked for many years and retired at Sears. She was also a lifelong member of the Second Congregational Church in Brewer where she was active in all areas of church life including the music ministry singing in the choir beginning at the age of 7. Pam was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Milwee Chapter #198 and was presented with her 25-year pin and was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she received a 50-year pin.

Surviving are two children, Dawn Hill and her fiancé, Dennis Allard, Jr. of Bangor and Petrea Hill of Holden; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Rice Hill of Brewer; her grandchildren, Joey McGowan, Jason McGowan, Justin McGowan, Christine Hill, Logan Hill, Heaven Hill, Katie Hill, and Amanda Hill; great grandchildren, Hayley McGowan, Jordyn Hill, Isabella McGowan, and Carson McGowan; a brother, Stephen Gilman of Bangor and three sisters, Susan and her husband, Cecil Bullard of Dedham, Brenda Kral of Brewer and Ronda Gott of Arizona; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene B. Hill, and her son Eugene B. Hill II “Fritz” and by two brothers, Seth “Sammy” Gilman, and Paul Gilman.

Family and friends may visit 4 - 6 PM Monday, May 23, 2022, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A service honoring and celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Second Congregational Church, South Main St., Brewer. A time of fellowship will be immediately afterward at Calvary Baptist Church, 61 State St, Brewer. A graveside committal will be at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 598 No. Main St, Brewer.
