Obituary of Gregory Lee Bowler
Bradford—Gregory Lee Bowler, 86, passed away June 13, 2022. He was born in Bethesda, MD, March 14, 1936, the son of George and Linnea (Pederson) Bowler.
Greg appreciated the art of photography, both taking photos and appreciating one taken by someone else. He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Master Gardeners. He loved music and listened to many genres, but classical and folk were his favorites. Greg enjoyed reading a good book, especially mysteries. He was most proud of his grandchildren and the adults they had grown to become, and his favorite times were spend talking with them.
Greg taught Broadcast Journalism at the University of Maine for many years. He spent time outside teaching writing grants for new audio/visual equipment, making training videos for local companies, and promotional videos for UMaine. He retired from UMaine in the mid-1990’s.
He was predeceased by wife Barbara and only brother Ron, both in late 2021. Greg is survived by daughter Gillian and husband Tom Kirlin of Bradford; grandchildren Zachary and Catherine Kirlin of NH, Konnar Kirlin of Bradford, Garrett Kirlin Bradford; special friend Daisy May, who he enjoyed visiting with.
