Obituary of Richard Terry Watson
HERMON and ORRINGTON – Richard Terry Watson, 91, passed away October 4, 2022. He was born September 9, 1931, in Conway, New Hampshire, the son of Richard and May (Whittaker) Watson.
Richard joined the United States Army in 1953. He was stationed in Colorado and taught skiing and rock climbing to other service members. He thought it was great duty to be teaching what he enjoyed doing. Richard later worked for W.S. Emerson in Brewer before becoming the Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector for several area towns, including Glenburn, Etna, Dedham, and Hampden. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially in Alaska, where he traveled to the Kenai River many times to fish. Richard was a 35+ year friend of Bill W.
He was predeceased by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Marilyn Thibeau. Richard is survived by wife Lois Watson; stepchildren David Clark and wife Kim, Dan Clark; children Suzanne Watson and Steve Watson; grandchildren Kevin Clark and friend Theresa Greenleaf, Ashley Works and husband Andrew, Melissa Gray and husband Dalton, AJ Page; great-grandson Wesley Gray; sister Patty Bryant and husband John; brother-in-law Brian Thibeau and wife Shannon; sister-in-law Donna Dubay; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
