Obituary of Shirley Ann Moore
Shirley Ann Moore
December 8, 1944 – January 1, 2024
Shirley Ann Moore, 79, died in Glenburn, Maine on January 1, 2024. She was born in Bexar, Arkansas in 1944 to Robert and Gail Gifford.
Shirl, as she preferred to be called, died at age 79 and was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her husband, David Moore; daughter, Leigh Blumenthal (Bryce), stepdaughter, Leigh Ann Moore Elliott (Rick), grandchild, Ian Todt; sisters, Norma Hennigh, Carol Cane, Pam Lockling; and brother, Rick Gifford; and cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Shirl lived all over the United States; California, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Arkansas, and lived in Bangor, Maine for the last few decades of her life. But she claimed Kansas City as her hometown and visited her family and friends there frequently. Anyone she met usually became a friend, as she was an incredibly kind person. She loved reading, photography/art, the beach, horseback riding, dogs, connecting with her closest friends, and was an enthusiastic anglophile in the areas of history and film. When well, she was an avid traveler, her favorite countries to visit were England, Brussels, and Scotland.
Shirl will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
In honoring her request, no funeral service will be held.
