
Obituary of James M. Brochu
On November 9, 2024, James M. Brochu, 83, passed away at a Bangor hospital. He was born January 7, 1941 in Bangor, Maine, the son of Gerard and Josephine (Breton) Brochu.
Jimmy was a 1959 graduate of John Bapst High School and served with the US Army. Jimmy worked for Eastern Fine Paper and then worked as a commercial painter for Webster Painting. He was a lifelong resident of Brewer and was a communicant of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Brewer. Jimmy enjoyed playing cribbage with his brothers and numerous friends as well as enjoyed doing the daily jumble and crossword puzzle. He was a quiet, kind spirit who was loved by his family and friends. His quiet presence will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by three sisters, Frances Faucher of Groton, MA, Patricia Ruth and her husband, Richard, of Milpitas, CA, Joyce Poulin and her husband, Gary, of South Weymouth, MA, one brother, John Brochu, of Brewer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by a sister, Charlene Thom; three brothers, Michael Brochu, Carroll Brochu, Richard Brochu and three sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Brochu, Melanie Brochu, Joan Brochu; two brothers-in-law, Anson Thom and Gerald Faucher.
Family and friends may visit 5:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa Catholic Church, South Main St., Brewer. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. A gathering will be held afterward at the parish center.
