Dear Mr. Phan and Ms. Nguyen,
I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’ve known Julia for only a few years but we became very close and we’ve shared a lot of memories together. We became close over things like food, artists and the love for house music.
We both had shared the same music taste and there’s one memory / song that instantly reminds me of her. It was St Patricks Day weekend of 2023 and we were together watching the parade in South Boston. We found ourselves at a friend’s house with someone playing music. We both didn’t recognize the song at the time but spent weeks after the party trying to figure out what it was.
After weeks of going back and forth with her and trying to figure out what it was, we finally found the song and both couldn’t stop listening to it. We both had such a fun time being there together in that moment and I wish I could go back to that time to see Julia have that much fun.
We were so close to the point where she would see me as her older cousin and I cared for her like she was my family.
I’m deeply saddened by her passing and it’s been hard to continue these days knowing I can’t go to her for things like: advice, music recommendations, or the casual how are you doing.
I’m so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Dear Mr. Phan and Ms.Nguyen,
I am incredibly sorry for your loss of your beautiful daughter. Even though time we spent together in Boston is only 2 years, Julia and I built such strong and lovely friendship together. She was my chosen little sister and I truly love her from the deep of my heart. The way she loves people unconditionally, the way she always treats others with respect, the way she takes care of Lolli & her family showed me what a great human being she is. She always loved it when her parents make an unexpected visit to Boston and go for family dinner with her. She was definitely one of the gifts from God that was sent to me as my little twin. She was the brightest joy and light in my life, and my only best friend that I could trust and share my everything. While I’m typing these, my hands are shaking, tears are flowing and throat is heavy still. It feels like I lost half of me and I feel empty and lost at this moment. I can’t even imagine what a hard time you guys are going through. But, I’m sure Julia is looking over us from heaven and wishing all of us to stay strong for her. I’ll pray for her every single day and she’ll never be forgotten. This tattoo for her will stay on my body forever just like how she will be living in my heart forever. Sending my condolences and much love to your family!

Julia. I know im one to always laugh easily at things but the way you made me laugh was different. You were literally the funniest wittiest person I ever met. I would always joke with you that I wanna meet ur parents to thank them for bringing such a funny person into this world. When you saw ppl throw money at the club and asked them why they’re doing that “in this economy” I lost it. The things you said made me laugh like nothing else ever did. You were such a shining light to all of us. What do we do with our Tuesday nights now Jules? I’m trying to find a way to cope with the fact that I’ll never be able to see you again - the sadness I feel everytime that fact hits me burns a hole in my heart just so deep …its forever beyond repair. I keep looking at your iPhone location hoping it’ll move around, how badly I wish it would just change. I keep having nightmares that I get a call and it was just you pranking us to see how much we love you. I wake up and it’s hell. I don’t understand what kind of god we live under to let something like this happen to a person like you. Ive always seen others around me lose people they love and I naively always hoped the feeling would remain foreign to me but here I am. Finally understanding just how painful losing someone can be. Everytime I try to come to terms with the fact that I’ll never see you again im overwhelmed with feelings I can’t put into words. I choke up. My chest tightens. The word ‘never’ absolutely destroys me. Absolutely just kills me. The tears are constantly building up every single day no matter what im doing, it’s a constant battle to either push them away or find a private place to let them flow. We’re so destroyed over you Julia we miss you so much. You will be forever deeply deeply deeply missed. I promise you. We love you so much. Rest easy Jules. <3
