Obituary of Michael W. Newberry

Brewer - Michael Webster Newberry, 56, of Brewer, died peacefully in his sleep on January 6, 2025. He was born in Mountain View, CA on February 19, 1968 to the late William Rockwell Newberry and Jane (Webster) Newberry.

He attended Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY where he was a standout in wrestling and baseball. He graduated from Bangor High School in 1987 after competing in the 1986 State Class A Football Championship and being honored with an invitation to the Maine Lobster Bowl as a Class A East All-star. Upon graduation, Michael fulfilled a lifelong dream of working for his grandfather, Arthur M. Webster as a carpenter and home builder. He maintained his passion for building his entire life. He will be fondly remembered as the best snow and tree fort architect and loveable character with never ending stories of wild antics.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Rockwell Newberry and his grandparents, Arthur and Dorothy Webster of Bangor. He is survived by his son, Michael Anthony Newberry of Phoenix, AZ; his mother, Jane Webster Newberry of St Augustine, FL; his brother William Robert Newberry and wife, Annette of Falmouth, ME; his sister, Dorothy Darois and husband, Bradley of St Augustine, FL; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
